Bristol Flyers has issued a statement in response to the BBL Disciplinary Panel’s findings from the game against Plymouth City Patriots on Friday, February 18th.
The club was informed on Monday, March 7th that Marcus Evans would receive a one-game suspension for his disqualification during the above game, despite all other disqualifications from the same game being rescinded.
League officials acknowledged that erroneous disqualifications were issued, after a number of players from both teams left the bench area during a fight situation, which took place in front of the Flyers team bench in the third quarter.
The Flyers accept the BBL Disciplinary Panel’s decision to issue a one-game suspension to Marcus Evans, however, the club believes it has been unfairly treated in this situation and feels that Marcus has been wrongfully singled out.
Marcus will serve a one-game suspension on Friday, March 25th against the Leicester Riders and will return to action the following day against the London Lions.
