Narrowing down the alternative universe of social media to its subjectively best moments throughout an entire year is an overwhelming task.
The last 12 months for Bristol Flyers have been the most successful in the club’s BBL era, both on and off the court. The club’s Twitter account have become well-known through the British Basketball community for pushing the online boundaries - from hilarious GIFs to engaging video content and friendly trolling.
So with that in mind, here are ten of the best moments that the Bristol Flyers social media channels had to offer in 2018.
The British Basketball All-Stars Championship returned for its second year in October, as the top eight teams from the 2017/18 season competed for a record-breaking £100,000 prize fund.
After defeating Surrey Scorchers in the opening round of the competition, the club’s Twitter account sent out a cheeky reminder of the prize money at stake.

January saw the Flyers pick up a crucial win against London Lions in the BBL play-off race - a result which prompted a friendly bit of online trolling…
After officially calling time on his 12 year playing career, the club honoured Greg Streete with a testimonial game in September, where he delivered a heartfelt speech which was very well received by fans across social media.

Ahead of the Flyers’ clash with Sheffield Sharks, it was always going to be a social media win to link it in with the ‘Baby Shark’ song…

Bristol Flyers picked up a historic win over Newcastle Eagles to advance to the BBL play-off semi-finals, but it was Panos Mayindombe who stole the limelight with his hilarious reaction from the bench.
🎥 See what happened when we mic'd up Panos Mayindombe during THAT GAME against @NewcastleEagle on Sunday afternoon.
