There’s no doubting the importance of social media in sport.
In the last 12 months, Bristol Flyers' social media channels have grown by 61%. The club’s Facebook account has seen an 82% increase in likes, whilst Flyers' Instagram following has grown by a whopping 132%.
There were many fantastic moments on social media in 2017. From witty tweets, to hilarious GIFs and friendly trolling - it’s almost impossible to narrow them down to just ten… almost.

He may have been named Bristol’s sexiest male, but Leslee Smith only had eyes for one man after helping Flyers to a three point win against Glasgow Rocks in November.
After former captain Greg Streete called for a break in his 12 year career, he wrote an open letter to supporters, which was very well received by fans across social media.

We all know tension can build on gameday, but Coach Kapoulas and Ieuan Alex Jones had a unique way to unwind ahead of a home clash with the Newcastle Eagles.
It was party time for Andreas Kapoulas in October, who celebrated his call-up to lead England at the Commonwealth games with Flyers’ highest ever BBL points tally, in a crushing 88-111 victory over Leeds Force.

After a yellow cone got the better of Rohndell Goodwin during one of his community coaching sessions, we thought we’d give the cone some well-deserved praise - it’s not often that cones get the recognition they deserve…

So when are @NetflixUK giving Brandon Boggs his own show?#StrangerThings pic.twitter.com/n9DIChMBdg
— Bristol Flyers (@BristolFlyers) October 27, 2017
It’s become a bit of a catchphrase on social media over the past 12 months, so when the latest series of Stranger Things was released on Netflix, we could only think of one person who should star in a series of their own.
There’s been a lot of friendly banter between Bristol Flyers and Surrey Scorchers on Twitter in 2017, but when the exchanges began to heat up, Freddie the Flyer decided to get involved.

Fair play to Surrey, who came back with this response… Need some ice for that burn, Freddie?

Bristol Flyers left it late to confirm their place in the BBL Play-Offs, after defeating Manchester Giants and Surrey Scorchers on the final weekend of the regular season to secure their highest league finish of seventh.
The two wins saw Flyers jump above both Surrey and South West rivals Plymouth Raiders, to deny them of a Play-Off berth with a ninth place finish.
What a weekend!

Brandon Boggs broke the internet in February, when his game-winning three pointer was shared by UNILAD and BBC Sport.

We rustled a few feathers with this one.
After defeating Worcester Wolves in the quarter-final of the British Basketball All-Stars Championship, the club’s Twitter account sent a cheeky reminder to Worcester of the prize money that was at stake.
