Bristol Flyers to support Rainbow laces campaign

Bristol Flyers will be supporting the Rainbow laces campaign for tonight’s BBL Championship clash with Leicester Riders (7.30pm).

Rainbow Laces – the programme run by LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) charity Stonewall promotes LGBT inclusion in sport.

Stonewall's Rainbow Laces campaign will see thousands of people put on Rainbow Laces this weekend, to show that sport is everyone's game and to ensure LGBT people feel welcome and included.

Building on the Bristol Sport group's support in 2016, members of the Flyers' first team squad will don the laces in support for LGBT players, fans, supporters and staff members.

Bristol Flyers are one of dozens of professional sports clubs backing the campaign, which has been endorsed by Premiership Rugby, the Premier League, the English Football League and the Football Association.

Stonewall is the UK’s leading charity for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) equality both in England and overseas, using its work within football to promote the acceptance of the LGBT community.

Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign aims to make sport everyone’s game with national teams, leading clubs, professional players, fans and grassroots players from across football showing their support for LGBT people in sport.
