Bristol Flyers II won their first round National Cup matchup against Huish Taunton Tigers 85-78 on Sunday. With an injury to shooting guard Aistis Keliauskas early in the game, the team fought hard to overcome a sixteen point deficit and seal the win. Flyers were led by Curtly Ferguson and David Mann who both had a double-double.

With Oxford Hoops withdrawing from senior competition, Flyers II have a bye in the National Shield (a knockout competition for division three and four teams). This also means that Flyers II have a weekend off due to the cancellation of this fixture. They next play at the WISE Campus on Saturday, September 29th (3.30pm), facing Oxford Brookes in their Division Three league debut.

Bristol Flyers Women

Flyers Women remain hard at work in preparation for the season to come in NBL Division One. Extra practices are cementing their pre-season work and they have already planned a pre-season friendly against Cardiff Archers on Saturday, September 22nd.

Flyers Under-18s Premier

The Under-18s Premier team played a valuable pre-season game away to Team Solent Kestrels last weekend, paling short, 64- 59. Coach Oakey saw positives in the performance, saying: “Despite missing a few players and limited time together, the squad showed signs of real promise for the season ahead. All four quarters were closely contested. There is more to come from the team as they continue to gel.

The team are back on the road again this weekend - heading up to Nottingham for their first league game of the season. The Central Premier Division clash tips off at 4pm on Saturday, September 22nd.
