Brandon Boggs has been named in the line up for the 2018 BBL slam dunk competition.
They will be eager to impress the judging panel with their dunking skills and also a crowd of up to 10,000 inside the Arena.
Boggs, who joined the Flyers in July 2016, has become a fan favourite in Bristol, regularly featuring in the club’s Top five plays of the month.
Kiefer Douse of Leicester Riders is also known for throwing down a variety of athletic dunks and will compete alongside Denzel Ubario of the Plymouth Raiders.
Austin Rettig of Manchester Giants is also looking to make a splash, along with Dirk Williams of the Sheffield Sharks, who shot to global fame over the weekend with a viral dunk against the Surrey Scorchers.
The sixth and last remaining member of the 2018 BBL Slam Dunk Final line-up will be revealed soon.
The Dunk Contest will consist of two rounds. The first round will comprise all competitors, with the two players who score the highest marks progressing to the final round.
A panel of three judges, selected by the BBL, will judge the competition.
Judges will give each successful dunk a mark out of ten, and will score according to their perception of style, athletic ability and creativity.
Pro:Direct Basketball, one of the UK’s largest online basketball retailers, will be working with the BBL for this year’s competition.
It is hoped that the partnership, which includes advertising at the event and the provision of the competition prize, will strengthen the relationship between Pro:Direct Basketball and the BBL for the future of the UK game.
Mike Price, Partnerships Manager for Pro:Direct says: “Pro:Direct Basketball is proud to work with the BBL, and we are hoping that this mutually beneficial partnership will help us and the BBL connect better than ever with the passionate and savvy players and fans of the UK game.”
