Report: Reading Rockets 74-85 Bristol Flyers

Bristol Flyers overcame an early double-digit deficit to book their place in the quarter-finals of the BBL Trophy with a 74-85 win over Reading Rockets.

The NBL Division One side led by as many as 14 points in the contest after a strong start, but Bristol recovered to ensure their winning streak continues.

Aaron Cosby led the way with a game-high 18 points for the Flyers in their fifth straight victory with four other players in double figures.

Reading started brightly with a 7-0 run before building a double-digit advantage in the first quarter. Bristol responded in the second and went on a 13-2 run to close the half, up by two.

The Rockets stayed in contention in the third and cut the gap to a single point ahead of the final ten minutes, but Bristol produced a strong finish and ensured they avoided any possible upset with an 11-point victory.

American duo Craig Ponder and Chris Hooper scored 17 points for the Rockets along with captain, Danny Carter.

The Flyers are back on the road in the next round as they take on Cheshire Phoenix in the last eight.
